Swan is looking for a QA Platform Engineer to join its Engineering team of 80+ people and its QA team of 5 people.
The engineering team is by far the largest in Swan. This team includes Software Engineers, who build payments and end-customer applications, as well as Infrastructure, QA, and Security.
Swan has a diverse team of engineers from all over the place. Co-building is at the heart of the way we work. We believe in challenging each other. We believe that the values of honesty and frankness while respecting others and showing empathy, are the best way to work together and get things done in a healthy environment.
The QA team supports the Product & Engineering team so that they can release quality products. With a shift left approach, it aims to find functional and non-functional bugs as soon as possible in the development lifecycle. Tooling and automation are essential pillars for this.
Are you a passionate QA professional ready to make a significant impact in the fintech industry? Join our dynamic team as a QA Platform Engineer to shape and enhance our Quality Assurance processes, tools, and automation framework!
✨ Your mission:
Automation framework improvement
- Refactor and enhance the current automation framework to ensure scalability, maintainability, and effectiveness.
- Optimize test coverage and execution efficiency to support rapid deployment cycles.
QA Tooling and Processes
- In collaboration with the QA Manager, identify, evaluate, and implement tools to improve the QA team’s productivity and precision.
- Streamline existing QA workflows to align with industry best practices.
Bug Detection and Resolution
- Design strategies to quickly identify and address functional and non-functional bugs.
- Ensure comprehensive validation of application performance, security, and usability.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the QA Manager to set quality benchmarks and goals.
- Mentor and guide QA team members to elevate technical expertise and standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Innovation and Improvement
- Stay ahead of trends in QA methodologies, tools, and technologies to ensure continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of quality, promoting proactive approaches to testing and problem-solving.
✨ Our technical environment:
- Playwright (using TypeScript) is our current framework for automated tests
- We use Linear and Notion for project management and documentation
✨ Methodology
At Swan, we build a product that is mainly designed to be consumed by other engineers. As such, we expect Engineers to take a real role in co-building the product we offer, proposing ideas and challenging what’s doable.
To facilitate this, Engineers are split into independent squads of 4 to 8 engineers working alongside dedicated Product Managers. They build together the roadmap on a quarterly basis and are able to iterate on it in a cycle of 2 to 4 weeks.
Because the stability of our system is important, we expect engineers to come up with technical projects that help us scale and add them to the roadmap like we would any feature.
✨ Our product
Swan makes it extremely easy for anyone to embed banking features, whether they’re a dev or an entrepreneur (or both). It’s exciting to build a bank that can be integrated by anyone! We’d love for Swan to become the reflex for European engineers who want to build something with banking and payments.
The banking domain is a fascinating and challenging place to grow your skills. It’s state-of-the-art and covers everything you’ve learned at school: security, consistency, and scalability, but building a “bank” is a lot different from building another type of startup. In banking sector, you can’t compromise on product quality and leave issues unresolved. That’s why Swan puts security and robustness first and foremost. Join Swan and you’ll be pushed to reach the highest standards of quality and precision.
Preferred experience
✨ You’re a great match if:
- You have extensive experience as a QA Engineer in an agile environment, ideally 5+ years
- You’re well-versed in automated testing and continuous integration, with proven experience of at least 3 years across two different companies
- Familiarity with Playwright and TypeScript is a plus
- You possess a strong team spirit and collaborative mindset
- You regularly follow technological improvements to keep abreast of the latest developments in your technological ecosystem

- Our ideal teammate: Sociable. Skilled. Empathetic. Frank. We love to challenge each other, and we leave our egos at the door 🙂
It’s okay if you don’t tick all the boxes — don’t let imposter syndrome prevent you from applying! 🙌
Swan is committed to providing a caring work environment for all employees, regardless of age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, or belief.
